Anna Joy Gordon is a Melbourne based freelance saxophonist, who is well known for her super high energy performances, and her delightful and completely compelling stage presence. To date, she has lent her considerable skills as both a composer and performer to a range of projects including award winning indie genre hoppers Mangelwurzel and Aria nominated globe-trotting world music outfit The Barons of Tang.
Anna now performs with and writes for a number of Melbourne acts including Ogopogo, Hot Sludge Fundae, Sludge Party, and Firetail. She is sought after as a sectional player, where she brings her unique writing and irrepressible energy to a variety of projects across a broad stylistic spectrum. She regularly guests with Melbourne’s afrobeat champions The Seven Ups and Sydney’s Hot Potato Band, and she performed in the Melbourne Festival season of Taylor Mac’s cabaret extravaganza “A 24 Decade History of Popular Music.”
